Awareness sessions in the field of mental health and symptoms of stress

On 30-6-2022, the psychiatrist Dina El-Shafei from the Arab Republic of Egypt met with a group of 13 families of the missing and forcibly disappeared at the headquarters of the Amal Center
It dealt with awareness in the field of mental health and the symptoms of psychological and physical stress and how to implement strategies to reduce this pressure and allowed the attendees to share their thoughts and feelings when experiencing psychological loss and how they adapted and coped with this pain.
Then the psychiatrist Dina Al-Shafei explained the symptoms of those who suffer from loss and how to treat and relieve this pain through (psychological treatment by writing, sports, dancing, strengthening the social role, focus, living in the present, relaxation strategies, slow breathing, meditation and self-care to adapt to the new situation) and resorting to a psychological specialist if necessary.
At the end of the session, Dr. Dina Al-Shafei explained the activity of vigilance, which aims to link the individual to the reality and the present that he lives in, thus distracting attention from the negative thoughts that press the individual's head.

The results of the session were positive, as a number of women shared their stories in an interactive atmosphere and interest from all the attendees
