Afrin Social Association participates in a symposium entitled "Return to Kurdish: Hamid Badrakhan as a Model".
Today, Sunday, members of the Afrin Social Association participated in a symposium organized by the Rojavai Kurdistan Intellectuals Union (HRRK) under the title "Return to Kurdishness: Hamid Badrakhan as a Model", which was delivered by the writer and Dr. Joan Hamy.
Dr. Joan Hamy presented highlights of the biography of the late poet Badrakhan Hamid, and the Kurdish cultural scene in general, talking about his life and his suffering in learning his mother tongue.
The symposium included a video presentation of the late Kurdish artist "Muhammad Aziz Shaker" with clips from the Shih district of Afrin.
At the end of the symposium, the discussion was opened to the attendees, and Mr. Sharif Muhammad spoke about the life of the late Hamid Badrakhan and the injustice he was subjected to by the Turkish government and his movement between Kurdish villages and towns.
It is worth mentioning that this symposium is part of a series of seminars, cultural and literary activities, dialogues and free meetings organized by the Kurdistan Rojavai Intellectuals Union (HRR) during the month of Ramadan.
