On the occasion of the anniversary of the establishment of the Syrian Women's Council
On this day in the year 2017, in the city of Manbij and in the presence of more than 224 Syrian women from all Syrian cities and from all components and spectrums of the Syrian people, the establishment of the Syrian Women’s Council was announced, and today we celebrate the fourth anniversary of its founding, which came as a culmination of the struggle and sacrifices of thousands of women. It included all the colors of the Syrian people in a beautiful painting scented with a female perfume, in which women's efforts focused on promoting civil peace, especially in areas of displacement and displacement, stopping the war and political participation in building a political solution for the future Syria.
During its four years, the Council worked on a set of activities that focused on achieving peace and stopping the war in Syria.
The Syrian Women’s Council was able to gain trust, achieved results and a good reputation among Syrian women, and participated in extensive local activities inside Syria, as well as participated in international and regional activities to convey the voice of Syrian women, their suffering and their demands to international forums, and participated in the discussions on the political solution in Syria with remarkable merit.
The process of establishing peace in Syria will not take place without the real participation of all Syrian women. They are the most able to reach the family and the community, and they are the most able to influence the thinking mechanism of men and push them towards serious work to establish security and peace in the country.
Today, on the fourth anniversary of the establishment of the Syrian Women’s Council, we highly appreciate the sacrifices made by Syrian women in combating the terrorist organization ISIS and the resistance they show every day in the face of the consequences of the conflict they have made and the sacrifices they have made and we pledge that we will continue on our path to achieve the aspirations of women in Syria and in the world In freedom and we will always work to:
Encouraging Syrian women to participate in peace-building efforts in Syria, by appreciating their participation, taking their suggestions and contributions seriously, and paying attention to their correct and realistic representation in political entities and decision-making positions.
And work to properly allow the effective participation of Syrian women in peace building efforts and to present future visions for Syria.
And work to support women’s organizations working in various regions of Syria, especially in areas of displacement, and to allow them to provide their services according to the needs they deem urgent and appropriate for the community, according to their experience and knowledge of the local reality, not according to the perceptions of the United Nations that focus on theoretical matters that may be remote About the real needs of society and its groups.
And demand the strengthening of international and international legal procedures that protect women from violence and various violations, with the aim of allowing them to participate in political and societal roles, without fear of security persecution or of political, legal, physical or societal repression being practiced against them.
