A session to introduce civil, political and cultural rights

During the past ten years, the regime committed many violations against the Syrian people, without any regard for the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was launched by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948, in which Article 3 states that everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.
Article 5 states that no one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
And other articles, amounting to 30 articles, that guarantee the freedom and dignity of the citizen within his state.
However, the regime and the international community ignored all these articles with the presentation of the Syrian issue. Syrians were killed and arrested, and everyone who wanted a decent life was deserted.
To shed light on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and answer queries on the same topic from Professor Ali Waheed within a legal awareness raising session entitled (Human Rights) organized by the Women's Subcommittee of the Women's Support and Empowerment Unit in the city of Qabasin in cooperation with the Balad Identity Center.
The session included introducing human rights (civil rights, political rights, cultural rights).

• The International Covenant on Political and Civil Rights.
• Convention against Torture and Other Inhuman Treatment.
The International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination Identifying the absolute rights, including: (the prohibition of torture, freedom of conscience, the right to confessions of legal personality).
