A call for the launch of the Handbook of Transitional Justice in Syria Practical Solutions

Believing that there is no way to reach sustainable peace in Syria without finding practical and just solutions based on redress for the victims and their families primarily to deal with the amount of violations that occurred during the years of conflict
During the previous period, the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression established the Transitional Justice Forum as a modest contribution to the efforts made by many Syrians, victims and their families, and civil and human rights institutions, in order to create a space for dialogue between Syrian stakeholders and benefit from the experiences of other countries to pay Towards opening a civil-society dialogue on the issue of transitional justice
The forum included the conduct of 4 webinars/discussion sessions, to open dialogue between relevant Syrian stakeholders (Syrian human rights institutions, victims’ groups, members of the Constitutional Committee, and representatives of Syrian civil society), where the topics covered the different aspects of “practical transitional justice”, It provides tools and places through which Syrians can seek justice for victims and their families
The technical papers were shared along with the participants’ recommendations with the researcher who worked on integrating the results of the discussed and modified working papers and the recommendations into one best practice guide, with the aim of using them as a reference for human rights staff and civil society organizations working on the transitional justice process in Syria
The Center invites you to a symposium to launch the handbook of transitional justice in Syria (practical solutions), which focuses on laying the foundations for the transitional justice mechanism in a way that contributes to establishing the truth and accountability regarding past or current grave violations of human rights in Syria
