Providing psychological support to a girl child at Khudh Beyadi Center for Rehabilitation and Education of Children

Esraa (7 years old) is a Syrian girl living in Istanbul. At the beginning of the school year, she was very enthusiastic about school, but after a while, she became afraid to go to school, until she reached the point of rejecting school completely!
Her mother was surprised by this, and after researching the matter, she discovered that the child was being bullied by her peers, and ridiculed, and thought that the teacher did not like her, especially since she was not fluent in the Turkish language.
The little girl arrived at the "Take My Hand" center for education and rehabilitation of children with "autism spectrum" and other developmental disorders, which is supported by SAMS, and began her journey in the center.
The first step of the center’s cadres was to communicate with Esraa’s teacher at the school, and it turned out that she tried to support the girl without result, and after the center’s psychologist spoke with Esraa, she discovered that she had speech problems, and that she was exaggeratedly linked to her mother.
At first, the child refused to speak and interact with the psychiatrist who followed up with her at the center!
The management plan started by using the method of gradually moving away from the mother and relying on herself, so that the child began to accept being away from her mother during the sessions.
After a period of useful sessions at the center, the psychologist began to engage Israa with a group of children who faced the same difficulties, and began to work on increasing and encouraging her self-confidence.
With the passage of time, the treating team noticed the integration of the girl with the group until she became excited about her and eagerly awaits the sessions with the children.
With the end of the sessions, Israa returned to school and had many friends and girlfriends, and she became in a better and constantly developing situation.
