Entering its eleventh year, the majority of Syrian women have been affected by the war in Syria. Tens of thousands of women were arrested and tortured. More than 28,500 females have been killed in Syria since March 2011. Sharing all the risks men faced, women were given additional responsibilities in providing for the family and facing the hardships of asylum, poverty and exploitation. Despite all these challenges, many Syrian women have succeeded in achieving success and innovations worldwide.
