Syria's road to justice

The “Syrian Women’s Network” (Shams) and its partners, Ornamo and the European Center ECCHR, filed a lawsuit on June 17, 2020, in which they demanded that the German judiciary define the criminal characterization of sexual and gender-based violence as a crime against humanity and not an individual criminal offense. The German court of Koblenz accepted on 17/ 3/2021 Considering crimes of sexual and gender-based violence as crimes against humanity that do not fall under the statute of limitations and all those who participated in them will be held accountable and the perpetrators will not benefit from any amnesty and can be tried in any country where there is a fair judiciary, an important step on the path to justice for Syria
Let's move forward to achieve more successes and more redress for victims on the long road to justice
