University education between students' complaints about raising the level and demand for recognition

Within the activities of the “Consistent Peace” initiative, the Administrative Development Center, in partnership with The Day After Organization, held a panel discussion entitled ((University education between students’ complaints about raising the level and the demand for recognition of university degrees)).
Dr. Imad Barq, head of the Higher Education Council in the Syrian Interim Government, Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Daghim, President of Aleppo University in the liberated areas, and Mr. Hussein Akash, head of the Executive Office of the Free Syrian Students Union, participated in this symposium. In the liberated areas, some members of the Executive Office of Free Syrian Students, many students of universities in the liberated areas, and some representatives of civil society organizations.
The topics of the three-hour session were:
The reality of higher education in the liberated areas and the difficulties facing the work of universities.
The reality of education at the University of Aleppo in the liberated areas.
The difficulties, problems and concerns that students face in our universities, especially the demand to obtain recognition for a university degree.
_ Proposals to improve the educational situation in universities and take into account the conditions of our students according to the current reality.
_ Achievements and future plans in the work of universities in the liberated areas (and at the University of Aleppo).
At the end of the symposium, the attendees, especially the students, presented their recommendations and suggestions, which the guests accepted with open arms and promised to work on implementing them according to the available circumstances and capabilities.
The attendees also stressed the importance of these seminars in the process of community dialogue, which all contribute to the success of the educational process at the university and academic levels, as well as raising awareness and real effectiveness in building society, leading to success in the peacebuilding process.
