The Syrian Network launches a distress call to stop the suffering of the displaced in the Rukban camp

Istanbul - Follow up
Today, Wednesday, the Syrian Network for Human Rights launched a distress call, appealing to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Amman and international relief organizations to take urgent action to stop the suffering of thousands of displaced people in the besieged Rukban camp on the Syrian-Jordanian border.

The network condemned, in a statement, "attempts to restrict the residents of the camp with the aim of forcing them to flee to the areas of the Syrian regime because of a serious threat to them." .

The network monitored many violations against people who left the camp towards areas controlled by the Syrian regime, including arbitrary arrest, enforced disappearance, torture and forced conscription.

Campaign "Save Rukban Camp"
Last Saturday, Syrian activists launched an online campaign to demand an increase in water pumping into the besieged Rukban camp.

The solidarity activists appealed to the United Nations organizations and humanitarian associations to stand up to this problem, and to work to increase the quantities of water inside the Rukban camp to become sufficient. They also appealed to them to provide humanitarian and medical assistance to the population, especially after the regime tightened its siege on the camp.

The hashtag "Save the Rukban Camp" witnessed a wide interaction by the pioneers of social networking sites, as the artist Maxim Khalil interacted with him by saying: "Did you know, my human brother, that 10,000 refugees are dying of thirst in the (Rukban) camp in the middle of the desert?"
