Eighth anniversary of a large-scale chemical weapon attack

Today, we remember the victims of one of the most horrific crimes in Syria, on the eighth anniversary of the large-scale attack with chemical weapons, the areas of Moadamiya in Western Ghouta and Zamalka in Eastern Ghouta, in which the internationally banned gas sarin was used.
The attacks killed more than a thousand civilians, including large numbers of children. While more than 3,500 people were injured. And it pushed for the issuance of Security Council Resolution No. 2118 to destroy the Syrian chemical arsenal under the supervision of the United Nations and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
Despite the huge human losses among civilians, the massive violations of human rights, the continuation of international investigations and the successive resolutions of the Security Council, the use of chemical weapons in Syria did not stop, as we witnessed their use again more than 163 times after the issuance of Resolution 2118. As happened in the attacks that targeted Khan Sheikhoun in April 4, 2017, which killed 92 people, and Douma on April 7, 2018, which killed 40 people.
