SAMS currently operates three hospitals in NW #Syria that are working diligently to fight against the latest wave of COVID-19. Dr Salah Al-Saleh is a doctor at Al-Zira’a Hospital in #Idlib, one of our largest COVID-19 treatment centers. He described a dire situation unfolding with only 40 beds for the rapidly increasing number of #COVID-19 patients. Dr. Al-Saleh, along with many other doctors, have continued to express their concern and are calling for an increase in critical supplies, such as hospital beds and ventilators. There is also an urgent need for an increase in vaccinations to protect the community from the rapidly-spreading Delta variant. With a recent influx of targeted attacks in NW Syria, the simultaneous increase in COVID-19 patients is especially troubling. SAMS will continue to support both patients and health workers by providing dignified care and support in the face of these growing needs.
