Hassan's mother went with her son to SAMS Center for Psychosocial Support in Irbid, and he was received by the psychiatrist, and the treatment journey began. After evaluating his condition, it was found that he suffers from bipolar disorder, and a treatment plan for Hassan was developed through medication and psychological counseling (psychotherapy).
Today, we met Hassan. He told us, "I don't remember what my condition was like, I was lost and devastated, and now, thanks to the psychological support team at SAMS, I'm back to myself and I know what I want and the value of my life."
Hassan is one of the many Syrian children who have been exposed to, and could be subjected to, these traumas due to asylum, which may be a reason for them losing their right to education. Hassan says, “If I had stayed in my country away from war and asylum, I would have finished my university studies now, and through it I was able to I work, help my family, and achieve my dreams.”
