Dr. Yasar Al-Qanani visited SAMS Psychosocial Support Centers in Amman and Irbid
Dr. Yasar Al-Kanawati, a member of the SAMS Committee for the Psychosocial Support Program, visited the SAMS Centers for Psychosocial Support in Amman and Irbid - Jordan.
The visit included a lengthy meeting with the psychological support team and the psychiatrist, during which they discussed the activities offered by the center and the mechanism for providing these activities. It also included a discussion about the challenges facing the Syrian refugees and the local community and the mechanisms for providing psychological service and protection to them in a way that ensures safe and effective access to the services provided by SAMS. The meeting also presented some future plans that aim to enhance and develop the program in line with the reality of services in Jordan and to achieve sustainability for SAMS programs.
Dr. Yasar also met, during this visit, a group of refugees and the center’s auditors, after obtaining their consent, to learn about their reality, the challenges they face, and the impact of the qualitative intervention provided by the Psychological Support Center on their lives.
In addition, Dr. Yasar made a home visit after obtaining the consent of the beneficiaries for one of the cases that received the services of the Psychological Support Department. Being an expert in child psychotherapy.
