Workshop on Gender-Based Violence
On Monday, May 30th, the "Raqqa" Center for the Syrian Women's Council organized a workshop entitled "Gender-Based Violence".
It was delivered via Skype by Mrs. Nayrouz Kajo, a gender specialist and director of gender-based violence cases at the Center for Democratic Development and Human Rights.
This was attended by representatives of civil society organizations, institutions and independent personalities.
The workshop included the following topics:
• Basic concepts of gender-based violence.
• The difference between gender
• The World Health Organization's definition of violence against women
• Addressing gender-based violence
• Types of gender-based violence
• Gender-based violence and human rights
• Factors that contribute to gender-based violence
