SAMS returns to its international medical mission in Lebanon after a long hiatus

After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SAMS started today its international medical mission in Lebanon!
SAMS' medical mission will run from May 22-27, 2022. Former SAMS President and oncologist Dr. Mofaddal Hamadeh and anesthesiologist Dr. Yasser Wafai lead a team of 18 volunteers from the United States on a multidisciplinary medical mission to serve Syrian refugees and the host community in need of treatment in Wadi Bekaa Valley in Lebanon.
The team includes 10 doctors and surgeons and 8 medical students and it is expected that more than 500 medical services will be provided. Services will include cardiac catheterization, pneumonoscopy, gastroscopy, oral and maxillofacial surgery and clinical consultations. This is SAMS' first assignment to include highly specialized oral and maxillofacial surgery.
