Awareness session entitled “Protecting Real Estate Ownership for Women in Syria”

Within the framework of awareness that the unit is working on, and with the aim of raising legal awareness in general and what is related to real estate ownership in particular among the members.
The Women's Subcommittee of the Women's Support and Empowerment Unit in the city of Azaz conducted a legal awareness session under the title: "Protecting Real Estate Ownership for Women in Syria".
The session included many topics, its beginning was by talking about the reality of real estate rights in Syria and informal housing and documents that prove women’s right to random housing and the problems related to ownership in informal housing.
In addition to talking about the regime's procedures in dealing with the property of women who came out demanding freedom and dignity within the areas under its control. Lawyer "Mazen Juma'a" also shed light on the most prominent societal problems with regard to real estate ownership, which is depriving women of their inherited real estate rights, depriving the wife of her marital financial rights and the mechanism of dealing with these cases, and other topics discussed.
In this context, the lawyer presented some paper forms in relation to real estate ownership, such as contracts, court rulings, real estate registration statement, and deed of consensual exits.
He concluded the session by saying: "A man's ownership is not different from a woman's ownership, but it is necessary to hold awareness sessions for women because society in general and women in particular lack legal information related to real estate ownership." In addition to mentioning some important recommendations to preserve real estate properties.
