Adult Intensive Care Fellowship Program

The development of medical personnel in Syria continues, through training and various medical education programs, including the fellowship program for adult intensive care, by SAMS doctors in the United States in the relevant scientific committees.
The training began at SAMS Intensive Care/Adult Program under the supervision of the Syrian Board of Medical Specialties (SPOMS) at the beginning of May of this year, and will continue for two years, so that examinations are conducted and doctors obtain a certificate of specialization from the Syrian Board of Specialties (SBOMS).
Dr. Yahya Al-Sheikh (30 years old), from the village of Maasran in the southern countryside of Idlib, a graduate of Aleppo University in 2017.
Doctor Yahya says: “Out of determination and desire to conduct a specialty of care, to follow up on critical and advanced cases of patients, especially the pressure that we faced during the response to the Covid 19 virus and the management of cases, in addition to the management of war injuries, from patients with respiratory failure, where I worked for SAMS in many From the facilities, including the Maarat al-Numan National Hospital, where we were receiving critical war casualties that need intensive care, through the Agriculture Hospital in Idlib, which is designated to manage Covid cases.”
The doctor is currently working as a care resident at Idlib Central Hospital, where he undergoes intensive training from SAMS doctors in America. “The goal is to obtain a certificate of specialization in intensive care medicine and to provide an optimal service for patients who need admission to intensive care,” says the doctor.
The scientific committee of SAMS doctors in America supervises the training of 8 resident doctors, 4 doctors in Idlib Central Hospital and 4 doctors in Bab Al-Hawa Hospital supported by SAMS.
