Karima (50 years old) had strange symptoms in the abdominal area, and because she believed that it was caused by a simple bloating, she delayed seeing the doctor.
The problem with her worsened dramatically and the abdomen expanded, so she conducted medical consultations and investigations, and was transferred to Bab Al-Hawa Hospital, the hospital for difficult tasks, as people in the area call it.
The patient’s treatment was supervised by the surgeon, Juma Abu Ras, a specialist in general surgery at the hospital. He says: “The patient went to the general surgery clinic with abdominal pain with a clear increase in the size of the abdomen, with the appearance of other digestive symptoms. An abdominal ultrasound was requested, then an axial layer with an injection of contrast material, and a procedure The necessary analyzes were completed, and it was found that there was a large (large) lump in the entire abdomen with a change in the position of the left kidney, where it was observed to the right of the midline of the body, with close adhesion to the mass, and a mass in the uterus (of medium size) was noted.
The doctor continues: "After conducting full medical consultations, it was decided to perform the surgical procedure. The patient's abdomen was opened and the mass of 26,600 g and a length of 55 cm was removed. It was in contact with the main vessels in the abdomen (abdominal aorta and inferior hollow) and the mass was extracted without any occurrence. Vascular damage, and the left kidney was preserved and returned to its normal position, with a hysterectomy to contain many tumor masses. The initial clinical orientation was to replace the soft tissue sarcoma, pending a definitive histopathological result.”
Karima's family did not believe that she had gotten rid of this strange mass, that she had returned to her normal condition, and that she had gone home.
Her brother says, "We were astonished by the size of this mass, as the medical staff made a tremendous effort to rid her of this huge mass."
