An event on the sidelines of the Brussels Conference on Syria and the Region
Musawah Organization participated in an event held on the sidelines of the Brussels Conference on Syria and the Region, organized by the Euro-Mediterranean Feminist Initiative and the Syrian Gender Defense Group on "Fighting Violence against Women and Girls - From Words to Deeds".
Representatives of Syrian women's organizations and the European Union exchanged discussions on the need to address violence against women, women's rights, gender equality, and the need to involve women in the political process for the future of Syria.
Representatives of Syrian women's organizations called on decision-makers to keep women at the forefront of the political agenda, and donors to continue and fund women's organizations. They stressed the need not to remain on the sidelines, and the need to recognize and encourage its political and economic role at every stage.
