The Arab Forum for Media and Scientific Communication
Verify-Sy platform participated in the activities of the "Arab Forum for Media and Scientific Communication", which is the first virtual event of its kind in the Arabic language and brought together a group of pioneers of Arab journalism and media. The forum was held virtually online from February 26-28, 2022.
In a session entitled “How do information audit institutions in the Arab world confront misleading scientific information? Colleague Ahmed Primo reviewed the experience of the Verify platform, which obtained in February 2022 the accreditation of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) in responding to misinformation about the Corona pandemic and the vaccines against it.
The session was hosted by the Arab Network for Information Auditors (AFCN) from ARIJ, which included 4 information audit institutions/initiatives from Egypt, Yemen, Morocco and Moussouria, in a round table during which they discussed their methodologies and efforts in auditing scientific and medical content, especially with the massive spread of misinformation and misinformation in light of the pandemic.
