Verify-Sy platform denies the authenticity of a circulated photo of a released detainee
Verify-Sy platform team conducted a search to verify the authenticity of the image allegedly of a detainee in the Syrian regime’s prisons called “Hamid Al-Khatib” and the accompanying claim that he was released from Sednaya Military Prison in Damascus Countryside.
Where the results of the advanced search showed that the photo does not belong to a recently released detainee called "Hamid Al-Khatib", but to a former Libyan detainee called "Faisal Ahneesh Faisal Al-Ghazali Gaddafi" who was released from the prisons of Misurata in Libya after 6 years of detention, as it turned out that the photo is old and dates back to the year 2017, published by a Libyan page concerned with publishing about detainees who supported the former regime in prisons, under the name "Our Prisoners are Heroes of the Nation".
