Elections of the Women's Subcommittee of Azaz City
Within the "Women's Institutions Governance" project, which is being implemented by the Women's Support and Empowerment Unit with the support of the Stability Support Unit S.S.U. On December 25, 2021, the Women's Support and Empowerment Unit held the elections for the Women's Subcommittee for the city of Azaz, hosted by the Free Aleppo Governorate Council. Representatives of civil society organizations participated in the electoral process as observers (Local Councils Unit, Istiklal, Administrative Development Center, Wasl Network). Ten female members of the unit ran for each of the following positions: the chairperson of the subcommittee, the assistant, and the secretary, where many female voters attended to cast their votes to choose their representatives. It is worth mentioning that the elections were held in the last period within the women's subcommittees in the following cities: Bazza, Al-Bab, Qabasin, Jarablus.
