A lecture entitled: "16 Days Campaign to Combat Violence against Women / Prevention and Empowerment"

On the occasion of the 16 Days Campaign to Combat Gender-Based Violence, SAMS organized, in cooperation with the University of Jordan, a lecture entitled: "16 Days Campaign to Combat Violence against Women / Prevention and Empowerment", the lecture was opened by Dr. Ahmed Al Sheikh Ahmad Alsheikh Ali
Associate Professor of Psychology - the University of Jordan and an advisor to the SAMS Psychological and Social Support Program. The lecture was attended by more than 60 students from the Department of Psychology, the Department of Sociology, and the Department of Social Work, in addition to several professors of psychology, sociology, and social work.
The lecture team presented the 16-day campaign and the types of violence in general, focusing on economic, political, and family violence, and providing messages directed to future workers "students" to deal with cases of violence and what are the measures taken to reduce this violence.
One of the participants from the Department of Psychology said, “It was a wonderful lecture that dealt with all the topics and the lecturers allowed everyone to present their point of view on the subject effectively, and then the methods of prevention and procedures used to confront violence in all its forms were presented. I enjoyed it very much because through these awareness lectures we have a motivation It is strong that we do not remain silent about any abuse we are subjected to.”
Dr. Ahmed Al-Sheikh concluded the lecture by emphasizing the importance of psychological support for cases exposed to any kind of violence. He also stressed the importance of effective partnership between organizations and universities, especially the fruitful cooperation between the University of Jordan and SAMS.
