Head of the Human Rights and Business Unit

Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise the HRBU staff by providing direction, input and feedback
Ensure structured reporting between the unit, the programme coordinator and the top management
Manage the day to day programme implementation including allocation of tasks, monitoring of work-plan milestones and the allocation of program budgets. Offer inputs and review reports and other reporting requirements prepared by the programme coordinator
Design and draft proposals for new innovative projects and research ideas
Conduct legal research and analysis and develop reports on business involvement in conflict-related human rights abuses in the Syrian conflict
Identify and evaluate the risks associated with programme activities and take appropriate action to control the risks
Manage and oversee open source investigations of business and businesspersons in the Syrian context which will contribute to accountability efforts
Represent SLDP’s human rights and business programme in meetings with partners, and stakeholders, conferences and other relevant events
Build SLDP relationships with donors, clients, international organisations and NGOs, and other stakeholders
Work with partners to strengthen linkages with other actors to enhance organisational learning
