The project is funded by the EU and linked to CPO TUR 101 under Outcome 7 on Adequate and Effective Protection for All.

The overall of the project is the elimination of the worst forms of child labour (WFCL) in seasonal agriculture with a specific purpose to enhance national and local capacity for the elimination of the worst forms of child labour in seasonal agriculture as well as providing services to children at risk and their families.

The project will contribute to overall policy advocacy and implementation, expansion of knowledge base and improvement of institutional capacity for the elimination of child labour in seasonal agriculture. In this respect, all planned interventions have a counterpart in the national policy documents and contribute to achieving national objectives at the macro level.

At the micro level, the project will strengthen the central and local capacity of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security (MoLSS) as well as local authorities for the elimination of the worst forms of child labour in seasonal agriculture. In addition, awareness of the general public, families, decision makers, employers, intermediaries, school principals, teachers and media concerning child labour will be raised and policy dialogue for the elimination of WFCL in seasonal agriculture will be improved.

Reporting lines:

The Field Support Assistant will report to the Senior Project Coordinator under the overall supervision of the Director of the ILO Office for Turkey.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Provide administrative assistance for the timely delivery of the project results and outputs and carry out specific operational tasks for project and programme activities in the field.
Support monitoring progress of the relevant project activities by providing inputs/feedbacks to work-plans, progress reports, final report and other data for clarity, consistency and completeness.
Support coordination of logistical and organizational matters and monitoring implementation of training, seminars and meetings by consultants and service providers.
Assist coordination of training coordinators/consultants for efficient and timely delivery of project activities.
Provide assistance to the project team in organizing their schedule, meetings and missions to the project provinces.
Assist in drafting terms of references for external collaboration contracts particularly for consultants to be contracted in the field.
Working in close collaboration with the Field Support Officer, provide follow-up action on the external collaboration contracts in terms of timely delivery of outputs.
Assist in the preparation of technical reports and documents and maintain administrative records.
Assist in the logistics and organization of project events, trainings and meetings in project provinces. Prepare and follow-up on invitation letters/cards sent for project activities and trainings.
Keep close contact with the beneficiaries of the project in order to evaluate the quality of trainings, their needs, etc.
Compile and maintain a record of contact details of project stakeholders, national and local partners, media and non-governmental organizations.
Draft official correspondence, statements and speeches and other public information material on the elimination of child labour in seasonal agriculture.
Perform necessary tasks under the ILO’s internal integrated resource utilization system (IRIS) and software.
Undertake regular missions to project sites accompanying others to the field for monitoring of direct intervention activities.
Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Director of ILO Office for Turkey.
Required qualifications:

Education:

Completion of secondary school education.
Experience:

At least 6 years of general work experience.
At least two years of specific professional experience in project/programme management – designing, implementation and monitoring of projects/programmes in the field of social policies.
Experience in working with vulnerable groups including children will be an asset.
Languages:

Excellent command of English and Turkish both oral and written.
