The issue of people with special needs in SIMA is more than just an anniversary

The International Day of Solidarity with Persons with Special Needs represents more than just an anniversary in Sima, where humanitarian workers and through protection teams strive to integrate this group and enable it to access health and education services and engage in society, throughout the year by integrating protection programs With the rest of our medical programs, which Sima pays special attention to. We share the passion for protecting these people and integrating them with the rest of those interested around the world in the issue of people with disabilities in Sima by reviving several parallel festive events in the protection centers scattered in north and northwest Syria. These events include a package of interactive activities with the participation of children with special needs and their families. Alaa Sheikh Hassan, supervisor of the Amal Center in Idlib, says, “We are in solidarity with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities through festive activities that will enhance some steps and culminate in a month-long march of continuous work to serve children with special needs. and rehabilitate them.” Concerning the celebration program, the Protection Officer explains: “Our celebration begins with children receiving beloved cartoon characters and creating a special atmosphere inspired by the local social culture to enhance psychological resilience. Gifts and cutting sweets are what gives a sense of joy and fun to our young participants.”
