we established a local bazaar in the town of Al Rai
As part of Syrian Forum’s economic empowerment project we established a local bazaar in the town of Al Rai in the Al Bab district of Aleppo. There are 39 different stalls used by 39 different beneficiaries and aims to create a wholistic market place where Syrians can find everything they need at reasonable prices including produce, fruits, clothing, and other items. Beneficiaries received a $400 grant to start their businesses in the market place. Our teams on the ground followed up with each beneficiary individually providing advice and support on how to manage their business and make it profitable. Our teams also have evaluate the impact of the act grant on the beneficiaries and the success of their businesses. The location and types of business operating in the market place were determined in coordination with the local council in Al Rai. We made sure the market place was close enough to populated areas and that products are affordable as well.
