The SAMS Psychosocial Support Program team presented an awareness workshop on early marriage as a global problem, in Irbid / Jordan,
Targeting 15 Syrian girls under 18 years of age, trained Hanan Al-Taluh, a psychologist, said: “This workshop aims to educate girls about the physical and psychological consequences of underage marriage, as well as its social consequences and its effects on the young family and its children in particular. Marriage is a serious responsibility that requires the availability of specific ingredients in the spouses to undertake this fateful project.The problem of widespread marital disputes, violence and early divorce that often follow such a marriage was also discussed.Alternative solutions were also discussed for the purpose of reducing the incidence of such cases that leave their impact. eloquent in our societies"
One of the beneficiaries of the workshop, *RS 11 years old, said, "The information was very useful, and I suggest that psychological support sessions be conducted to increase self-confidence and raise awareness against bullying."
On her part, *S.A., one of the participants in the workshop, said, "The training is useful and entertaining, given that the trainer used the interactive method and discussion instead of using the method of memorization, and the training was very useful and left a strong impact on my way of thinking and my ambitions."
