Syria is the country of components... Berçav continues its sessions on the constitution, the last of which is in Derik

Berçav held its sixth session in Derek, amid an active presence from various professions, work environments, and political and civil functions, today, and concluded with several recommendations,
The session was attended by a member of the Constitutional Committee, Dr. Samira Moubayed.
This is the last session scheduled for North and East Syria.
Dr. Moubayed briefed the attendees on the most important developments in the constitutional process, especially in the aspects of activating the committee, its role, its comprehensiveness, and its expression of all Syrians,
The attendees discussed with Moubayed the most important points of the "Rule of Law Paper", which was drafted by members of the civil society bloc in the committee, and presented in its sixth round months ago.
Most of the comments centered around:
- Syria is a country of components, and the paper is a paper that protects the rights of individuals;
The paper is good in theory, but it is very difficult to accept it, not only at the level of the regime but also for the opposition.
Transitional justice is an important detail in the democratic transition, and successful experiences must be benefited from.
- The principle of accountability, accountability, and transparency, and without that, it is not possible to talk about "good governance".
- The absence of state sovereignty, and therefore it is difficult to look at the “rule of law” paper. The sovereignty of the state and the rule of law go hand in hand, and their source and goal are “people.”
Dr. Samira Moubayed presented mature and hopeful visions in her answers to the above-mentioned issues, and it was clear that the attendees were betting on the independent-civilian component of the committee.
These sessions are considered as public consultations whose goal is not only to express an opinion, but rather an indication of the factor of participation and ownership, and therefore more than one voice spoke about the harm that would be caused to the process if it overlooked the civil and political components from north and east Syria in the Constitutional Committee.
It should be noted that in its programs on the constitution, Berjaf held six sessions and three workshops and covered cities such as Qamishlo, Raqqa, Kobani, Manbij, Rmelan, and Derek, and it continues to hold events on the constitution in the places where Syrians are present.
