A panel discussion entitled "Why are you violent?"
On Saturday, December 4, 2021, the Syrian Women's Council organized a dialogue session entitled "Why are you violent?" In the Merry Land hall in Qamishli. The session was moderated by Lina Barakat, the general coordinator of the Syrian Women's Council. The question around which the discussion revolved was the knot that showed the complexity of many controversial social issues, where the answers focused in their entirety on common points such as “women’s lack of an independent economic resource, customs, traditions, religions, women’s ignorance of their rights, the absence of deterrent laws, the social environment.” family, and so on. It is worth noting that the session targeted men for the first time to discuss the issue of violence against women and find solutions to this phenomenon, with the remarkable participation of a group of intellectuals and community leaders in the city of Qamishli.
